Peptide Therapy

Targeted signals, not shortcuts.

Peptides are short chains of amino acids that act as signalling molecules in the body. Used carefully, they can support appetite regulation, metabolic health, and tissue repair. Used carelessly, they mask a problem nobody bothered to investigate. We do it the first way.

Prescription only, after a consultation with one of our doctors. We do not prescribe peptides on request alone.

Amino acid chain

Short. Typically a few dozen amino acids or fewer, which is what separates a peptide from a protein.

Specific. Each one binds a particular receptor, so the effect is narrow rather than general.

Familiar. Your body already makes thousands of them. Insulin is a peptide.

What we work with

Two you have probably heard of.

These are the peptides patients ask about most. Which one is right for you, or whether either is, is a conversation with your doctor rather than a menu choice.

FDA approved for
specific indications

GLP-1 receptor agonists

GLP-1 is a hormone your gut releases after eating. It slows gastric emptying, signals fullness to the brain, and supports blood sugar regulation. GLP-1 medications extend that signal.

Where it can fit

  • Weight that has not responded to genuine diet and lifestyle work
  • Insulin resistance and blood sugar dysregulation
  • Cardiometabolic risk alongside nutrition and movement changes

Worth knowing: nausea and other digestive effects are common, especially when starting or increasing a dose. There are conditions that rule it out entirely. Your doctor will go through all of it with you.

Not FDA approved
compounded only

BPC-157

A synthetic peptide derived from a protein found in gastric juice, studied largely in animal models for tissue and gut lining repair. Patients most often ask about it for gut healing and soft tissue recovery.

Where it can fit

  • Gut lining support alongside a broader digestive protocol
  • Soft tissue and joint recovery in some cases

Be clear-eyed about this one. BPC-157 is not an FDA approved drug. Human evidence is limited, most research is preclinical, and availability through compounding pharmacies has been restricted. If your doctor considers it, they will tell you exactly what is known, what is not, and why they think it is reasonable for you.

Other peptides come up from time to time. If you have read about one, bring it to your visit and we will talk it through honestly, including when the answer is no.

The process

How a peptide actually gets prescribed here.

Four steps, in this order, every time. If a step tells us a peptide is not the right call, we say so.

01

Full consultation first

A 75 to 90 minute new patient visit, or a follow-up if you are already established. We take your full history, current medications, and supplements before anything is prescribed.

02

Labs where they matter

Depending on what you are asking peptides to do, we may run metabolic, thyroid, kidney, liver, or hormone panels first. We want a baseline, not a guess.

03

A plan, with peptides in it

If a peptide is appropriate, it goes into a wider plan alongside nutrition, sleep, movement, and anything else driving your symptoms. It is one tool, not the whole plan.

04

Monitoring and adjustment

We follow up, recheck labs where indicated, and adjust or stop. You will always know why you are on something and what we expect to see.

Where we stand

A peptide will not fix a problem nobody investigated.

Peptides have become easy to buy and easy to oversell. We are genuinely interested in what they can do, and we are equally willing to tell you when they are the wrong answer for what is actually going on.

If your labs point at a thyroid problem, a nutrient deficiency, or a gut infection, that is what we treat first. Peptides sit inside a plan. They are not the plan.

We will not prescribe by request alone

No consultation, no prescription. That applies to everyone.

We will tell you what the evidence says

Including when it is thin, preclinical, or absent.

We will not promise a number

Results vary. Anyone guaranteeing you a figure is selling something.

Questions

The ones we get asked most.

Still unsure? Call or text the office. We would rather answer a question now than have you guess.

A peptide is a short chain of amino acids, the same building blocks that make up proteins. Your body already makes and uses thousands of them as signalling molecules. Peptide therapy means prescribing a specific one to act on a specific pathway, such as appetite regulation or tissue repair.

Yes. Peptides are prescription therapies and we will not prescribe from a phone call or a form. You need a full consultation with one of our doctors so we understand your history, your medications, and what you are actually trying to solve.

GLP-1 receptor agonists act on appetite and blood sugar regulation, and some are FDA approved for weight management and for type 2 diabetes. Whether one is appropriate for you depends on your labs, your history, and your goals. We also do not manage insulin, so if you are insulin dependent we will coordinate with the provider who does.

Because the underlying driver still matters. If a hormone imbalance, a gut issue, chronic stress, or poor sleep is part of the picture, a peptide will not resolve it on its own, and stopping the peptide without addressing the root cause usually means the problem returns.

Every prescription carries risk, and peptides are no exception. GLP-1 medications commonly cause nausea and other digestive effects, particularly when starting or increasing a dose. Your doctor will go through the specific risks, contraindications, and what to watch for before you start anything, and we monitor you while you are on it.

Tell us about it, honestly and specifically. Research-grade peptides sold online are not held to pharmacy standards, and we cannot verify what is in them. We would rather know what you are taking so we can advise you properly than find out later.

Start with the consultation.

Tell us what you are hoping peptides will do. We will look at whether they are the right tool, and what else needs attention either way.
